PASS PLUS
The Pass Plus Scheme is a Driving Standards Agency supported scheme which aims to promote and improve road safety for newly qualified drivers and must be taken within the first year of passing the driving test. As well as becoming a better and safer driver, some insurance companies offer discounts on premiums to drivers who hold a Pass Plus certificate.
The course lasts around six hours and consists of six parts:
Town driving
All weather driving
Rural road driving
Night driving
Dual carriageway driving
Motorway driving
The Pass Plus Scheme is not a test, but is more an evaluation by your instructor who, when satisfied that you are competent in each of the above types of driving, will issue your Pass Plus certificate.
